Our rules and behaviour
We want every child to feel happy, safe and valued at our school. We believe that a positive learning environment begins with a supportive, caring community where everyone feels a sense of belonging and has the opportunity to thrive.
Our approach to behaviour is built around three simple, shared expectations:
-
Ready – being prepared to learn and making the most of every opportunity.
-
Respectful – treating others with kindness, valuing differences and listening to one another.
-
Safe – making choices that keep ourselves and others safe, both physically and emotionally.
These expectations underpin our Behaviour Policy and whole-school behaviour expectations which helps us to recognise positive choices, celebrate achievements and encourage children to take responsibility for their actions.
We use a restorative approach to help children understand the impact of their behaviour, repair relationships and learn from their experiences. We take time to listen to children’s perspectives, help them reflect on what has happened and support them to find fair, positive solutions. Wherever appropriate, we encourage children to resolve conflicts independently, developing the communication, empathy and problem-solving skills they need to manage relationships with confidence.
By working together, we aim to build a culture of kindness, respect and inclusion, where every voice is heard, relationships flourish and all children feel they belong and can achieve their best.
